Every now and then as a parent you do stop and realize that you have probably moved on to the next stage. Sometimes you can't wait for it, sometimes you wish that you had the old stage back, but inevitably your kid changes so quickly it happens without you realizing it right away.
Ellie has become a lot more independent recently. Instead of needing to be held at ALL times, she mostly insists only in the morning after she gets up. Have to give that one to her. She is actually showing an interest in her toys and pulls her books out and likes to have them be read to her. Not to insinuate that she didn't know how to play with toys or anything, but she mostly was only interested in being held. She understands pretty much everything you say and is really starting to say words. She has completely played us with the signing and now gets whatever she wants because she says please like it is going out of style. Mike taught her how to growl like a bear and it is just hilarious. We are still waiting for her to grasp the fork and spoon, but I am sure she will be all over that shortly.
