What a difference a month makes

Wow, this month really flew by.  The weeks are mostly filled with work, dinner/bath/bedtime, work and sleep, so the weekends are my chance to catch up.  As if that is ever possible.  We had friends the first weekend in August and I went to a course in Toronto the second weekend, and then well, who knows what happened to the rest of the month.  I can say we have had very little rain and it has been hot, damn hot.

What I can say is that Ellie is changing at a dramatically rapid pace.  Her vocabulary is about quadruple what it was before and she is almost speaking in sentences.  She knows the tune to the ABC's, sometimes singing it with the letters, sometimes repeating a word like "mommy".

She is also trying her boundaries but fortunately seems to respond well to discipline and the threat (and sometimes consequence) of a time out.  Like everything else, we will see how long that lasts.

Here is an short capture of our last month in photos...

Ellie's continued obsession with shoes.  And now with my socks too, dirty or not.

She recently discovered these play shoes in her toybox that were given to her about a year ago from the Chatigny's.  It is absolutely hilarious to see her walking around in them.  She also already has the "stance" worked out.

Thank god for our pool membership

Friday night at the Farmer's Market.  This was after heading out to the car for a "time out" because she wasn't eating her dinner.  She finished almost the whole plate later!

I still can't resist taking pictures of her when she is sleeping.

This was after she refused to take both a morning and afternoon nap.

This was at a BBQ festival that actually was a ridiculous waste of money.  With very little BBQ.  It was all for competition and none for consumption.

Ellie loves her new tricycle.  It was handed down from the Reynolds.  She loves to ring the little bell on it.  Her chubby little legs don't quite fit to the pedals yet, but she "rides" it to get the mail every day (Mike pushes her)
