My big girl

This spring we decided that we were going to take off the training wheels on Ellie's bike.  She was pretty timid at first, as is her usual MO for things.  Somehow the promise of ice cream managed to keep her going.  At first she made it about 2 feet and declared that she should get her ice cream.  But eventually she kept going, and after her riding for about 50 yards without looking back to see if we had or hadn't let go (which would inevitably lead to her falling off).  She finally got it and the best part--how proud of herself she was.  Honestly, you worry about pushing your kids, thinking, knowing you are doing it for the right reasons.  But to have her say out loud "I'm so proud of myself" after doing it--that was a priceless parenting moment.  And she totally deserved the ice cream.

On our way to the ice cream place, in her big girl booster seat.

Enjoying her well deserved ice cream

On a different day, but she wanted to get her hair cut really short.

And she looks so old!

And cute!
