The difference of what kids learn in Kindergarten compared to preschool is amazing. Besides letters and numbers and reading, they also learn concepts. Every holiday provides a new topic for them. Currently she is talking all about George Washington and Abraham Lincoln. Apparently outside her classroom she had an exercise that said if she was president she would end war. How does she know what war is? Her most recent discussion about the presidents included:
Ellie: I'm talking on the phone with Abraham Lincoln.
Me: Ok
Ellie: He lives in NYC.
Me: Oh really?
Ellie: Yeah, he's a go-go dancer.
WHAT?!?!? Maybe I should be concerned about what they are actually learning. How does she even know what a go-go dancer is?
