We had another fantastic week in Wells Beach, ME this year. Sadly we forgot our camera, although Lisa Wilson has all of the pictures (I'm still waiting for the pics, so stay tuned). The weather was pretty compliant, although not super warm. The babies were easier this year, well, because they weren't quite babies anymore. Zack and Addie could motor around on the beach and we didn't have to worry too much about them eating the sand. The tide was definitely more in our favor and we had the beach pretty much all day long. The girls needed far less refereeing than last year and went to bed much more easily. We walked the Marginal Way in Ogunquit one day and waited over an hour for the trolley to come bring us back only to finally call in the troops and of course, the trolley showed up right as our rides did. Mike and I had a date night in Portland with our friends the Lees. There were lazy mornings laden with coffee and little kids and lots and lots of sandcastles and hunting for rocks. The adults were turned into rickshaws towing the kids around the way to no end. We also tried out the very trending paddle boarding on the ocean. The girls had a sleep over at Rara's camper and their annual donut breakfast with Gap.
In the evening, one of the best things we did was play catchphrase. Ethan and Cassam got to stay over and play with us as well, and Cassam loved the game to say the least. There were many extremely funny moments playing the game, and it was a really great way to end the days interacting together.
Without doubt it was another extremely memorable time together and a fantastic vacation. It truly is amazing how differently you interact together as a family outside of the home territory. After 3 years in a row of going there, (4 for everyone else) it actually also starts to feel like home.
