Summer fun in NH

Summer in NH is lots of fun.  There's ice cream and water skiing and swimming and multitudes of family events.  Family that is far away often comes home for a period during the summer and now that we have all procreated, it means fun for the kids as well.  Last weekend was no exception and we are looking forward to next weekend as well!

This past weekend was even more extra special because my oldest friend Kate was home from Colorado with her husband and little girl Hazel, whom I have not yet had the chance to meet.  We made it in town just in time for dinner with Kate and her entire family.  The Schofields were my second family growing up, so this was super fun for me.  It was especially cute to see how quickly Ellie and Hazel (7 months apart) took to each other and were running around playing very quickly.  I think it really hit home how long we had been friends when the two little girls were going potty on the little training potty (Ellie wanted to copy Hazel) in Bill's kitchen.  You could tell he had never thought this would be happening!

Saturday was no exception to the visiting schedule.  Mike and Dad went to play 18 holes of golf while Ellie and I went to go visit my Aunt Annie and cousin Jen with her 3 children.  From there we went to G.Grammy and Grampy's to play in the pool.  It was exceptional hot and humid and the pool couldn't have felt better!  It wasn't long before there were 7 kids in the pool once Maria and Jen and their clans showed up.

Ellie for some amazing reason wanted these goggles on and she just looked hilarious
Dinner that night at Mom's house was with yet another 7 grandkids, this time with Maria and Sara's clans.  Unfortunately thunderstorms and torrential downpour broke out, complete with loss of power.  Didn't discourage the little girls too much though!

Sunday we spent some time down at Gap's new lakefront property and Ellie and Mike went for some rides on Gap's boat. Got some more visiting in with Sara and her kids and G.Grammy and Grampy.  We left later than we had planned, but it is just so hard to pull yourself away.  Maybe next summer I will actually be able to take a week off to not run around like crazies!

Going back for some more next weekend and it won't disappoint with action packed activity--Courtney and DJ's wedding, G.Grammy turns 90, Lisa and her fam will be home as well as all my cousins and Grebett.  I am already tired just thinking about it!
