Off to the races

Uncle Scott loves the Saratoga racing season.  Last year we promised him that we would make it up to go to the track with him.  We scheduled it in early in the year, and were excited to make our return trip up.  I'm pretty sure the only other time that we went was after the meal tasting for our wedding.

Fortunately the weather was absolutely perfect, considering it had been super hot and humid all throughout the week.  Mike, Jerry, Scott and I had a fantastic time at the track, although none of us really winning much.  We also had a serious burger at the Shake Shack, which we haven't made it to down here in NYC, but man was it good.  The track itself was quite a scene.  There were all kinds of people in all walks of life.  The people watching there was phenomenal.  It was interesting to see the younger crowd coming in all dressed up for the day at the track.  I definitely didn't remember that the last time we were there.

Sunday we met Lisa, Bill and Emily at a nearby park for a picnic and some cupcakes for Zack's birthday.  It was again a fabulous weather day.  The playground at the park was very neat and had this huge climbing structure in the middle.  I dare say even the adults had a good time!

Happy birthday to me!  He promptly ate only the frosting off.  Every last bit.
